Seven Mount Vernon High School students who are in the Future Educators Association traveled to Virginia Beach for the Second Annual Virginia Future Educators Association (FEA) Conference. 

The students entered seven of the eight competitions and presented a workshop. 

The individual awards were: (1) Lesson Planning and Delivery - Shai West - First Place; (2) Impromptu Speaking - Shai West - First Place; (3) Job Application - Khortney Hamlin - First Place; (4) Essay Contest - Gabriela Quiroz - Second Runner-up; (5) FEA Moment - Anna Martinez - Fourth Place. 

The club awards were: (1) Public Service Announcement - Second Place; (2) Energy Day - Second Place.  The breakout session, FEA in Action, was presented by Jonathan Guandique and Sammie Oputa. These students summarized the MVHS Future Educators Club’s activities to inspire others to become more active.
