1. Buy your Christmas tree at Mount Vernon High School tonight starting at 4 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the athletic program.
2. Start your holiday shopping at Ten Thousand Villages in Old Town on Saturday from 7-9 p.m. A portion of all proceeds from that night will be donated to Good Shepherd Housing.
3. Sherwood Regional Library will host an open house on Saturday at 11 a.m.
4. The Mount Vernon Estate hosts Mount Vernon by Candlelight this weekend.
5. On this day in 1939, New York City's La Guardia Airport opened.
