Crime Blotter: Officer Finds Marijuana During Traffic Stop

The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The following items are from recent police updates through Feb. 13 from the Mount Vernon Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department.

Narcotics (green on map), 11:35 p.m., Feb. 8, 7900 block of Richmond Highway, An officer conducted a traffic stop and in the course of an investigation allegedly located drugs. Ryan Alder, 19, of Alexandria, and Candace Rackham, 19, of Alexandria, were charged with possession of marijuana. Saul Cruz, 19, of Alexandria, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

Burglary (red on map), 3.30 p.m., Feb. 7, 2300 block of Fairview Terrace, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a gaming system. Forced entry was made through a rear window.

Assault (blue on map), 8 p.m., Feb. 8, 8000 block of Richmond Highway, A 13-year-old boy reported he was standing in the area when two unknown juveniles attacked him. The victim received minor injuries.

Assault/Destruction (pink on map), 5:10 p.m., Feb. 9, 8700 block of Mill Towns Court, A resident reported she confronted a man in her garage. They scuffled briefly and the 37-year-old woman received minor injuries. The vehicle tires were destroyed. The suspect fled.

Robbery (yellow on map), 9:30 p.m., Feb. 9, 7100 block of Fairchild Drive, A 15-year-old boy was walking on the sidewalk when several boys attacked him. They attempted to take his property from his pockets but were unsuccessful. They fled with shoes. The victim was not seriously injured. The suspects were described as black, 16-20 years old, approximately 6’ and 145 lbs.

Burglary (red on map), 8:30 p.m., Feb. 11, 8100 block of Orville Street, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole his wallet. There were no signs of forced entry.

Burglary (red on map), 2:50 p.m., Feb. 11, 2900 block of Furman Lane, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. Forced entry was made through a door.

Burglary (red on map), 2 p.m., Feb. 12, 8300 Pondside Terrace, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Entry was made through an unsecured door.

Burglary (red on map), 12:30 a.m., Feb. 12, 7900 block of Janna Lee Avenue, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole computer equipment. Forced entry was made through a window.

Burglary (red on map), 2:30 p.m., Feb. 12, 4400 block of Scarborough Square, A resident reported he heard a loud noise near the basement door. An unknown man entered the home. The suspect fled without taking anything.

Burglary (red on map), 6:30 p.m., Feb. 12, 8900 block of Bordeaux Street, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include a television. Forced entry was made through a window.

  • 5900 block of Richmond Highway, cell phone from vehicle
  • 6300 block of Richmond Highway, backpack from business
  • 7700 block of Richmond Highway, wallet from business
  • 6300 block of South Kings Highway, license plate from vehicle
  • 6700 block of Tahalla Drive, blower and air compressor from residence

Vehicle Thefts (turquoise on map):

  • 3300 block of Lockheed Boulevard, 2012 Toyota Sienna van
