Donations Needed for Rising Hope Food Pantry

Canned beans, meat among top needs.

The supply level at Rising Hope United Methodist Church food pantry has reached a critical low.

The food pantry serves 950 people each week, roughly 350 families included, said food pantry manager Sarah Heckman.

Donations are crucial to keep feeding those facing hardship in our area. Canned goods including vegetables, beans, and meat are in demand, Heckman said.

“That’s obviously our largest need because that’s what we give the most away,” Heckman said.

The following items are needed:

  • Canned meat such as canned tuna, chicken, or ravioli
  • Canned beans
  • Canned vegetables
  • Canned fruit
  • Canned tomato products – pasta sauce, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes

Donations can be dropped off at Rising Hope’s main office or food pantry Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 to 4 p.m. Heckman advises those who wish to donate to drop off donations between 10 to 2 on Tuesday.

“They can come in and I can give them a tour,” Heckman said.
