George Allen Visits Military Retirees at The Fairfax
Allen discussed key issues including healthcare and the economy.
U.S. Senate candidate and former Virginia Governor George Allen met with seniors and military retirees at The Fairfax retirement community on Tuesday.
According to the Allen campaign, more than 70 seniors attended the talk to hear Allen discuss issues including TRICARE and Medicare, high energy prices and the economy.
“It’s an honor to learn from the heroes of our military and their families who also served our country,” Allen said in a statement. “Like many retirees, I envision a better future than what America is enduring these days, and that’s why I want to bring Virginia voices to the U.S. Senate. I want to be the deciding vote to repeal the health care tax law that cuts Medicare and replace it with more affordable patient-centered solutions."
Allen said he will defend the military from "devastating cuts that would hollow out our military under a deal that risks over 200,000 Virginia jobs."
