Mount Vernon High School is seeking volunteer judges for its annual science fair. The science fair will take place after school on Feb. 5 in the Mount Vernon High School library and cafeteria.
Judges will have the opportunity to judge projects from IB science students from a wide range of subjects including biology, chemistry, physics and environmental science.
Judges will be paired with a partner to listen to student presentations about their projects and evaluate their work using a simple rubric. From there, the judges will convene to pick 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and Honorable Mention winners. The time commitment for judging is from 2:30 p.m. to approximately 4 p.m.
Many teachers and members of the community have volunteered in the past, according to an email sent by MVHS. New judges are also welcome to volunteer.
