Missing Alexandria Man Found Dead
Mohammad Sharif Yazdani, a 64-year-old Alexandria man, had been missing since Oct. 24.
Mohammad Sharif Yazdani, 64, was found dead Sunday, according to a news release from the Fairfax County Police Department's Mount Vernon Police District.
Yazdani — an Alexandria resident — was last seen by family members on the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 24. Yazdani had walked away from his residence in the 3800 block of Havenwood Place on the same day.
A resident who was out walking Sunday afternoon came upon a body lying along a creek bank near the 7700 block of Audubon Meadow Way, less than a mile from his home. Police identified him as Yazdani.
Police had conducted multiple searches in and around Huntley Meadows Park and elsewhere in southeastern Fairfax County. Police do not believe there are any signs of foul play related to Yazdani's death and the Office of the Medical Examiner has preliminarily determined that the cause of death was accidental drowning.

...and to think this might not have been the result had the media gave it the coverage it warranted before the hurricane or if the policy for the Senior "Silver" alert in Virginia wasn't limited to a duration of 12 hours even though the person is still missing.

Terribly sorry. I was praying for him, too. Now, prayers are needed for the family for their loss.

I prayed the entire time and kept my eyes open everywhere I went hoping to see him. I was very surprised that it was not on the news. My prayers and condelences to the family.
