Mount Vernon High School to Host 'Battle of the Highway' Pep Rally

Both school mascots will compete in a dance off, among other activities.

Mount Vernon High School will host a community pep rally with West Potomac High School Wednesday.

The pep rally will be held to drum up school spirit for the annual "Battle of the Highway" football game on Thursday.

Both mascots will compete in a dance competition, school principals get wrapped up in a race, and football coaches roll down the court in shuffle board, according to the MVHS Facebook page. The school bands and cheerleading teams from both schools will also perform.

"There will be flag football, relay races, bucket ball, and lots of fun!" read the post on the Facebook page.

Come join the fun and excitement as MVHS and WPHS face off in a series of games and events on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the MVHS field house.

Mount Vernon, for sure! We already started out the battle (and won) in girls field hockey...3-0. Go, Majors, Go! And, for all of my WestPo friends, I love you, but war is war! : )
