MVCCA Soliciting Comments About Mount Vernon Farmers Market

The MVCCA Consumer Affairs Committee is asking residents to take a short survey.

The MVCCA Consumer Affairs committee is seeking resident feedback concerning the Mount Vernon Farmers Market.

The online survey is about extending the hours or extending the season or retaining the current hours and season, and moving the location for an extended season. Click here to take the 10-question survey.

The survey will close on Feb. 20.

The Consumer Affairs committee surveyed all 12 farmers market vendors during the 2012 season, and convened more than one public meeting to include one with a representative from the Sherwood Hall Library.  The Mount Vernon board member of the Fairfax County Park Authority has been invited to a teleconference on Feb. 5 to discuss this matter.

Residents may participate in the teleconference by calling 866-866-2244, passcode 4636258.

Please consider moving the time of the farmers market to Saturdays. For people like myself who work during the week, we have no opportunity to visit the market. A big component of the community misses out on the option of being able to shop at a local market. Thanks.
