Northern Virginia Politicians Tapped For Obama Campaign's 'Virginia Truth Team'
Del. Scott Surovell, Sen. Adam Ebbin join various other Virginia Democrats to stump for President across 2012 battleground state
Mount Vernon Democrats Del. Scott Surovell and Sen. Adam Ebbin were appointed to the Obama reelecton campaign's 'Virginia Truth Team' on Monday and will join Rep. Jim Moran, Rep. Gerry Connolly, and a host of other Democrats to aid in spreading Obama's campaign message and responding to attacks from his opponents.
After narrowly carrying Virginia in 2008, the Obama campaign expects a tough race this year, especially after Republicans took control of the General Assembly last year. Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell is also often mentioned as a potential running mate for Mitt Romney.
"President Obama’s record should speak for itself," Surovell said in a press release. "[B]etween the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, preventing a complete collapse of the economy, ending the War in Iraq, saving the auto industry, the capture of Osama Bin Laden, raising fuel efficiency standards, repealing "Don't Ask Don't Tell," and reforming the financial sector, the president and his administration have a lot to be proud of."
Other Northern Virginia area Truth Team pols include Del. Mark Keam (Vienna), Del. Charniele Herring (Alexandria), former Sen. Mary Margaret Whipple (Arlington) and Fairfax County Democratic Committee Chair Cesar del Aguila, according to the Washington Post.

Any politician who needs a "truth team" to spin information needs to have even more scrutiny than initially provided.
I'm pretty much disgusted that this "team" and attackwatch.org is assuming I'm too stupid to go find out information for myself, and that locals repeating the talking points will make them true.
There is not a single person running on either major ticket who would be a GOOD president for this country.

Simply put, enough lies went unchallenged over the past few years that an a "Tea Party" backlash resulted in major losses in electoral politics in VA and other states. We see today a Republican dominated VA legislature and governor elected under the banner of jobs and economy. Their actions thus far show their true motivation being intrusions into the private lives of citizens with regards to choice, voting rights, gender equality and a host of other "values" issues. Thank you so much for staying focused on jobs and the economy Richmond! Seems to me that scrutiny and truth needs to be evenly applied across the political spectrum.

Interesting. Can anyone identify when Moran would be the go-to guy to defend President Obama against his challengers? Whom exactly would he persuade?
He still has yet to explain why he said, “This is a lack of leadership on the part of Obama,” fumed Moran (D-Va.) “I don’t know where the f*** Obama is on this or anything else. They’re AWOL.” in an interview with The Hill newspaper. http://thehill.com/homenews/house/133039-dems-show-signs-of-abandoning-obama-after-frustration-with-tax-deal
Really? He doesn't know where the President is on anything. Anything? Frankly, I would do a much better job than Jim Moran at persuading Swing Voters and Republicans to support the President.
I am glad to see Delegate Surovell and Senator Ebbin joining the Truth Team.
Thank you.
