Owner Sabrina Campbell opens the doors at 207 King Street on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Occasionally Cake is opening its second cake boutique on Thursday.

The new 3,200-square-foot store, located at 207 King Street, is staffed by eight employees and features gourmet cupcakes, designer cakes and cake truffles.

Additionally, the store will host parties, special events and baking and cake designing classes for kids and adults, as well as a small bakery area with seating, serving cakes by the slice, whoopie pies, cupcake push-pops, oatmeal cream pies, and beverages.

The cake shop is open Tuesday through Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A full schedule of cake decorating and baking classes will be available in June.

Its charter shop at 8859 Richmond Highway in the Mount Vernon section of Alexandria is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
