Open for Business on Christmas Day
Need a last-minute gift, or just need to spend some time outside of the house? These local venues and businesses are open on Christmas Day.
If you're tired of being cooped up in the house on Christmas, or you just need to get away from the in-laws, the Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens will be open on Christmas Day from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Bring the whole family and tour the mansion and grounds while participating in fun holiday-themed activities.
According to Melissa Wood, media relations director, the Estate receives over one million visitors annually.
"Visitation typically slows over the holidays, so far for the month of December we have already received almost 17,000 visitors," said Wood.

Safeway: 8646 Richmond Highway
Closes at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve
Open on Christmas from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Aldi grocery: 8256 Richmond Highway
Christmas Eve: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Closed on Christmas Day
Bottom Dollar Food: 8750 Richmond Highway
Christmas Eve: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Closed on Christmas Day

Christmas Eve: store: regular hours; pharmacy: 8-6 p.m.
Christmas Day: store: 10-8 p.m.; pharmacy: closed
