Visitors got a taste of colonial holiday spirit at the Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens as its Christmas in Mount Vernon program kicked off this weekend.
Christmas at Mount Vernon features fun colonial-inspired holiday displays, including themed decorations, chocolate-making demonstrations, and Roland Mesnier's gingerbread replica of the estate. Visitors can also tour the third floor of the mansion, a rare opportunity.
Christmas at Mount Vernon will run through January 6, 2012.

Always a beautiful display of colonial Christmas. I go every year just to walk around and take pictures.
