The following items are from recent police updates through Nov. 28 from the Mount Vernon Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department.

Assault (blue on map), 8:45 p.m., 11/23/12, 8600 block of Richmond Highway, The 21-year-old victim asked the suspect to borrow a cell phone. The suspect reacted by pushing and stabbing the victim. The victim was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The suspect was described as a white, male, approximately 45-50 years old, 5’6” - 5’7” tall, and 160 - 170 pounds.

In separate and unrelated incidents:

Burglary (red on map), 1:35 p.m., 11/24/12, 8600 block of West Boulevard Drive, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole jewelry. Forced entry was made through a rear window.

Robbery (green on map), 5 p.m., 11/24/12, 7900 block of Fort Hunt Road, A suspect entered the business and went directly to the pharmacist’s counter. He allegedly implied he had a gun and demanded narcotics. He was given a few pills and fled the store. No one was injured. On 11/26/12, Mark Posey, 56, of Alexandria, turned himself over to officers and confessed. He was charged with robbery.

Burglary (red on map), 3:15 p.m., 11/25/12, 7100 block of Mint Place, A resident reported someone entered the home and stole several items to include cash. Forced entry was made through a window.
