Fairfax County Police Release Video of Serial Butt Slasher Suspect

Hispanic male suspect allegedly responsible for at least six attacks at area shopping venues.

Fairfax County Police released a video on Friday of what some across the area are calling "The Serial Butt Slasher." The video depicts the suspect entering the Marshall’s store at Greenbriar Shopping Center in Fairfax on Monday, June 20.

Police received new information earlier this week that a 21-year-old woman may be the sixth victim in a string of assaults that have taken place in retail stores since February.

The woman said she was shopping at the T.J. Maxx at Fairfax Towne Center on June 8 when she felt a pinch on her buttocks. As in the other reports, the victim turned around, saw a man picking up pieces of clothing and thought she may have been cut by one of the hangers.

In earlier accounts, the suspect's M.O. is similiar--creating a distraction by knocking clothes to the floor before striking with possibly a knife or box cutter.

When the woman returned home, she discovered cuts in her clothing. She did not require medical treatment. The suspect was described as Hispanic. He wore long pants and a short sleeved shirt.
