Police Say Drunk Man Assaulted Officer
A string of robberies and burglaries were also reported in Mount Vernon over the past week, according to police report
A man assaulted a police officer as he was being arrested in the 5900 block of North Kings Highway on Feb. 2, at around 5:30 p.m., according to the Fairfax County Police Department weekly incident report. Police were arresting a group of arguing intoxicated individuals when they say Wilfredo Bermudez, 19, of Woodbridge, kicked an officer. The officer wasn't seriously injured.
Police also say a man armed with a gun robbed a pharmacy in the 8200 block of Richmond Highway on Feb. 3 shortly before 3 p.m. The suspect, who allegedly robbed the pharmacy of oxycontin, was arrested by Prince William County officers later that day. Andrew Ray Young, 24, of Triangle was charged with robbery in Fairfax County.
Two men allegedly grabbed a woman and took her bag in the 8200 block of Richmond Highway on Feb 6, at around 9 p.m. Police don't have a suspect description. The victim received minor injuries but didn't require medical attention, according to police.
Police arrested Saul Aparicio, 45, of Alexandria and charged him with burglary and being drunk in public. He allegedly entered a home in the 8200 block of Cooper Street on Feb. 8 at around 3:10 p.m. Nothing was stolen and no one was injured, police said.
An unknown person threw an egg at a 50-year-old woman at the intersection of North Kings Highway and James Drive on Feb. 8 at around 9:20 p.m. There is no suspect information.
