The Winter That Wasn't: Spring-like Temperatures on Thursday
Thursday's temperatures could hit 70 degrees.
Break out the flip-flops.
Temperatures on Thursday are forecast to reach the upper 60s with some areas possibly hitting 70 degrees, according to the Capital Weather Gang. Partly sunny skies and breezy conditions are in Thursday's forecast, the Gang reports.
The record high temperature recorded at Dulles on February 22 is 73 degrees in 1985.
Friday’s forecast will get a warm start to the day with temperatures in the 60s, but a “midday cold front associated with rain and clouds initiates cooling,” bringing temperatures down to the 50s, according to the Capital Weather Gang.
Friday night and Saturday morning could see a slight chance of flurries, with temperatures hovering in the 40s. The D.C. metro area has only seen 2 inches of snow to date.
Are you disappointed that our area hasn't received much snow this season? Take our poll below!

Right around Washington's Birthday - 22 February, we have had over many years, a thaw. The time when there are a few days of less freezing and my quasi Spring. Then it would return to winter. By the time of the 15th of March, there would be a feeling that Spring was truly on its way. And with that - time to start concrete plans for gardens and vegetable plantings. YEAH!

I want one more deep freeze spell to kill all the bugs. Could we get one good dump of a foot or two of snow? 3 days off?? And then spring can roll on in. Just kill the bugs and such before we bring on the pollen!

If you would like a foot or more of snow - After you finish clearing your driveway plus the distance on the road in front of your place and the sidewalk (if you have one from your property edge to the next property edge, you can come clean 110 feet of snow so I can get my car out of the garage Oh yes, there is a nice place in front of my garage door that also needs clearing. To ease my ability to get onto the road itself, you can complete the job by clearing the road itself so that I can get onto the road. The county doesn't seems to think the Belmont Blvd is any longer than where Henry Drive joins Belmont Blvd. As for killing any bugs, forget it. The bugs will just wake up when the weather warms up and appear just as hungry as in mid-summer. Wake up city-guy!
