SFDC Executive Director Announces Departure
David Versel will leave the non-profit to work at the Center of Regional Analysis.
Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation (SFDC) Executive Director David Versel recently announced he is leaving the non-profit on Jan. 31.
Versel will work for Dr. Stephen Fuller at the Center for Regional Analysis at George Mason University.
"While my time at SFDC was relatively short, I am very proud of the changes that have occurred in both the organization and the Richmond Highway corridor during my tenure," Versel said in an email sent to SFDC listserv subscribers Tuesday.
Versel began his tenure as executive director of SFDC in November 2011. The last year and a half was a banner year for the organization; the longtime efforts of the Board of Directors and staff brought many new projects to the Route 1 corridor including Kings Crossing Phase 2 and the completion of the Beacon at Groveton.
"Although I am taking my leave from SFDC, the wind is clearly at the organization’s back. I have great confidence in our Board of Directors and expect SFDC to continue to grow and prosper under the next Executive Director," Versel said in the email. "I will always think fondly about my time at SFDC and will continue to watch the area’s progress with pride and interest."
