The ASE Automotive parcel is part of an approved redevelopment project for all of the residential/commercial land between Rt. 1, Buckman Rd and Janna Lee Ave. Its demolition is part of the project. The project was reviewed during the Feb 2 MV Town Hall meeting at the MV High School.

Better resturants need to come to RT 1. None that require you to eat out of a paper bag or drive through. A quality food store would be great like Harris Teeter. The Safeway in Engleside needs to be shut down forever. I've gotten sick twice from their meats I will NEVER set foot in there.

I wholeheartedly agree with Kathie as regards a decent supermarket. I've recently moved here and through ignorance, stepped into the Engleside Safeway. The 'fresh' produce scared me. Then I had to run the pan handling gauntlet in the dark parking lot. Never again. A Trader Joes would be most welcome in the neighborhood. I currently travel to Bailey's Crossroads to shop at a Trader Joes.

I shop at the Trader Joes in Springfield a little easier to get to from Mt Vernon. It's in the shopping center with KMart. K

Thanks Kathie. I'll check out the Springfield location.
