Whitman Middle School Robotics Team Hosts First Competition
The new robotics team at Walt Whitman Middle School hosted its first competition Saturday.
The Walt Whitman Middle School robotics team hosted its first Lego Robotics Competition on Saturday at West Potomac High School.
The brand-new team and the event were sponsored by the Engineering Research and Development Center and teachers Michael Sweeney, Lakeyta Smith, and Mary Smith.
More than 10 teams competed in the competition. Whitman's team won the award for Project Presentation, according to Whitman Middle School STEM committee co-chairperson Joyce Matthews. The robotics team is part of the Whitman Middle School STEM program.
