Vernon AAUW, Thursday, January 17, 2013, presents a free informational program on Senior Scams, by Lisa Schifferle, Senior Attorney and Identity Theft Program Lead, Federal Trade Commission, 7:00 pm, Mount Vernon Government Center, 2511 Parkers Lane, Alexandria, VA 22306. Ms. Schifferle will offer advice for individuals, families, and caregivers on ways to avoid scams that target seniors, as well as detecting the signs of fraud and identity theft when it has been perpetrated against older or vulnerable adults.
