Water Main Construction Continues on Richmond Highway

Crews will work on several intersections to build new water mains.

More construction is coming to Richmond Highway.

According to the Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce’s website, the Fairfax Water Authority is entering the second phase of its water main replacement project for the road.

Crews will be installing water mains at the intersection of North Kings Highway and South Kings Highway, as well as at Shields Avenue.

Workers will also begin excavation for bore pits, the holes necessary to undertake construction under the road’s surface, at Groveton Road and Kings Crossing Road.

The construction will occur both during the day and at night, depending on the location.
