West Potomac Guitar Club FREE performance at Cosmopolitan Grill

Usually, on the second Wednesday of every month, at
Cosmopolitan Grill • 7770 Richmond Highway • Alexandria, VA 22306, (703) 360-3660 (Gold's Gym shopping center),the West Potomac High School Guitar Club, headed by Rosemary Gano plays free music from 6:00 p.m. until about 9:00 p.m. and it is VERY GOOD!  ***This month, however, they are playing on the third Wed. which is April 18th.

I went there on March 14th, 2012 and really enjoyed listening to them play and sing.  The music is well done, varied, not too loud, and delightful.  I was so surprised at the quality I heard.  There are several artists performing that evening including (but not limited to) Rosemary Gano, Magh Meall, Anna Waters, Brogan Latil, Rachael Dacey, Kyle Dankey and Kenny Perrando to name a few.  They would play a few songs and then someone else would get up and play more.  As an example, on that night, they played Irish songs, Country, Jazz and  Contemporary.  They played songs like Vanish Misfortune and Spancil Hill, Here Comes the Sun, Dust in the Wind, Dress Blues, Ring of Fire, Black Magic Woman, I will Follow You and more.

They are playing this music for free and I believe the Cosmopolitan Grille gives them some percentage of the night's restaurant proceeds to help support their club.  What a brilliant way to "earn your keep"!

I would strongly suggest that you enjoy some of the food while you are there. I have eaten at "Cosmo" many times and the food is awesome!

I encourage you to come early to Cosmopolitan Grill on the 18th (to make sure you get a seat)  and enjoy some marvelous music played by our local West Potomac High School Guitar Club and a delicious meal.  You'll be glad you did!
