Mount Vernon Estate Hosts Colonial Market and Fair This Weekend

The market and fair features artisans and entertainers.

The Mount Vernon Estate will host its annual Colonial Market and Fair on Saturday and Sunday.

The estate will re-create an early-American marketplace featuring more than forty juried artisans from across the nation, family entertainment and period amusements, and chocolate-making demonstrations.

Free Potomac River sightseeing cruises will also be available while supplies last. General Washington will preside over amusements including: Mr. Bayly, Conjuring and Entertainments; Signora Bella, Equilibrist; Otto the Sword Swallower; and more. The Colonial Market and Fair is the most diverse and authentic one of its kind.

The event is included with regular admission: adults, $15; youth, 6-11 $7; children 5 and under, free. The Colonial Market and Fair will be held on Sept. 22 and Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
