City View Brewhouse Coming Soon to Richmond Highway

Alexandria residents will soon have a new dining option along the Route 1 corridor. The former Dairy Queen site on Richmond Highway will become City View Brewhouse — a locally owned and operated restaurant.

Construction on the restaurant, located at 6925 Richmond Highway (at the corner of East Lee Avenue), will begin this fall, according to Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation (SFDC).

City View Brewhouse will be a 6,000 sq. ft., full service restaurant and brewery. The restaurant — owned and operated by Mount Vernon residents — will include a party room for private booking and a patio dining area overlooking a 2,500 vegetable and spice garden.

The restaurant will offer 20 high craft beers from D.C. brewers as well as six beers produced on site. City View Brewhouse will be open for lunch and dinner during the week and will offer breakfast items on the weekend.

According to Edythe Frankel Kelleher, SFDC executive director, residents may see construction for City View Brewhouse starting this fall. However, it all depends on when Fairfax County issues permits for the business.
