Spirit of Mount Vernon Boat Tours Resume Friday

The trips will leave from the Southwest Waterfront in D.C.

The newly refurbished Spirit of Mount Vernon, starting Friday, will again offer its narrated tours to Mount Vernon.Β 

Guests start out the journey with a narrated tour of D.C.'s landmarks while cruising down the Potomac River. Once docked at Mount Vernon, guests will have 3.5 hours to tour and explore the Mount Vernon Estate before sailing back to the Southwest Waterfront.

In celebration of the tour's return on Friday, the Mount Vernon Estate has planned a special greeting for Spirit of Mount Vernon travelers.

The Spirit of Mount Vernon will begin offering its narrated trips to Mount Vernon on March 15 through March 24 with Friday, Saturday and Sunday cruises. Starting March 26 through August 18, the vessel will cruise regularly from Tuesday through Sunday. From August 23 to Oct. 20, the Spirit of Mount Vernon will only cruise Friday through Sunday.

Options include full-day trips, one-way cruises and 40-minute photo sightseeing cruises from the Mount Vernon Dock. Day trip cruises include discounted admission to Mount Vernon and are priced at $44.95 for adults, $42.95 for senior citizens and $38.95 for children ages 6-11 with free admission for children under 6.

Breakfast, lunch and snack bar options are available on board. Group reservations for 20 or more can be made by calling (866) 211-3811, and parties of 1-19 passengers can reserve online or at (866) 302-2469.
