Occasionally Cake Sells Cupcakes to Benefit Turf Field

Local cake shop raises $500 towards turf field fund.

Correction: A previous version of this story noted that MVHS raised $30,000 for the turf field, which was incorrect. We apologize for the error. A corrected version of the story is as follows:

Local boutique cake shop Occasionally Cake sold more than $500 worth of mini-cupcakes at a recent Mount Vernon High School football game to benefit the construction of a turf field for Mount Vernon High School.

The turf field fund was initiated by the late Jeff Todd, who was the owner of three local Roy Rogers franchises and was an active Mount Vernon Chamber of Commerce member. The future turf field was dedicated to Jeff Todd for his efforts in raising monies for the Mount Vernon High School football program. Mount Vernon High School has raised approximately $12,000 for the turf field.
