Occasional holidays required. Benefits include 401K, health insurance, pet care discounts, vacation and sick days. Financial assistance is available for relocation. Own transportation is a requirement.

UCM Healthy Families Fairfax offices in Alexandria (Mount Vernon/Lee area) and Springfield is currently seeking Family Support Workers. Healthy Families is a voluntary home visiting program for first-time parents (from pregnancy up to age 3) who are referred because they are in need of extra parenting support. Family support workers educate participating families about child development, screen children for developmental delays and provide referrals to community agencies for additional support. Some caseloads contain non-English speaking families, which requires job candidates to be bilingual and/or bicultural in order to work with the diverse, multi-ethnic populations served. Knowledge of and experience working with a multicultural population is a plus. Requirements also include minimum high school diploma; three years experience working with families, children and/or infants; flexibility regarding work schedule (some evenings and weeknds), car and more.
