Each week, Mount Vernon Patch brings you some of the area’s job listings. Here are some of this week's noteworthy finds:

Association for Career and Technical Education is seeking a Legislative Director responsible for managing, developing, and implementing a comprehensive legislative strategy to advance career and technical education. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and maintaining a successful network of contacts on Capitol Hill, drafting legislation and serving as primary lobbyist on education and workforce issues.

Buzz Bakery in Old Town is currently seeking an evening baker. This is a full time position (5 days, 40 hours per week) and each shift is roughly from 4 p.m.-midnight. Daily tasks consist of: baking breakfast breads/cupcakes/cookies, light prep work (buttercreams and batters,) and boxing up wholesale accounts for delivery the following morning. Fairly entry-level position. Seeking candidates who have an eye for details. Position offers paid vacation after one year, dining perks/vouchers after six months and complimentary parking on site. There are several more properties opening in the next year so there is also the potential for growth. Chef MacIsaac requires a one-year commitment and that all candidates have a real passion for food.

Fine Art Gallery in Old Town is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, highly motivated person to join the staff in its Old Town Alexandria gallery location. At this location, art consultants work with an impressive high-end collection of paintings and sculptures.  Candidates must possess strong personal skills, great customer service, be very organized and able to multi-task. Prior experience in other high-end sales is preferred. A knowledge of art is also helpful, but not necessary.

A luxury high-rise apartment community located near the Eisenhower Metro Station is seeking a full-time front desk attendant. The main available shift is Sunday through Friday night from 5:30 p.m.-2 a.m. The ideal candidate is very flexible and can cover additional shifts upon short notice if needed. Some responsibilities include: greeting and guiding prospects to leasing office, conducting building rounds, and assisting residents/visitors/vendors with elevator access. Qualifications include someone who is very reliable and dependable, with strong service and communication skills. Must work well both independently and as a member of a team. Enjoying working with the public is critical.
