Ft. Hunt Animal Hospital is seeking two qualified veterinary assistants, a receptionist and a kennel assistant. Veterinary Assistant: Qualifications include ability to learn quickly, multi-task, remain calm during a crisis, as well as willingness to complete two months of intensive training. Experience preferred, but not required. Some responsibilities include: checking clients in and out, answering a four-line phone, assisting doctors and licensed veterinary technicians, restraining animals (some dogs can weigh close to 100 lbs.), taking and developing radiographs, preparing and running lab work, walking, feeding and watering animals, scrubbing cages, floors, dishes and counters, minimal bathing duties and more. Receptionist: Qualifications include: outgoing personality, great client communication, good phone etiquette, experience with a multi-line phone system and computers, organizational skills and working well under stressful situations. Duties include, but are not limited to, answering phones, checking clients in and out, keeping the front well organized, discharging hospitalized patients, keeping up with medical records and paperwork, communicating with doctors, technicians and assistants. Experience preferred but not necessary.  Kennel Assistant: Duties include, but are not limited to: walking dogs; feeding and watering boarders and hospitalized animals; taking care of cats; cleaning cages; scrubbing kennels and floors; dishes; laundry; cleaning the yards; and, giving medication.
