George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate seeks a full-time professional gardener to apply the latest horticultural practices in an historic setting. The position provides opportunities to work in an 18th century pleasure garden caring for heirloom perennials, annuals, vegetables, fruit trees and a variety of shrubs. Position is hands-on and classified as "essential" staff, thus must participate in emergencies, ice and snow removal and special events. Occasional weekend and holiday work is required. Applicants must be able to work independently and supervise other gardeners/volunteers, as well as interact positively with visitors. Qualifications: Minimum two year degree in Horticulture or related science degree; Minimum of five years experience maintaining public gardens; experience in operating a variety of equipment; knowledge in proper application of pesticides, and more.

Photogenic Inc., a souvenir photography company that provides fully integrated photo solutions at major tourist destinations across the country, is looking to add part-time Guest Services Representatives/Souvenir Photographers to its staff in its premier Dinner cruises: the Odyssey, Spirit of Washington and Spirit of Mount Vernon. A wide variety of shift times ranging from early in the morning until late in the evening are available. Ideal candidates are energetic, outgoing and can multi-task effectively. Responsibilities include: Line Flow position: welcome and direct guest through the line to the Photographer; Photographer position: Takes and monitors the quality of Souvenir Photographs; Sales position: Invites customers to look at their photos and purchase them, completes sales of photographs, etc.
