Celebrate George Washington's birthday this weekend with some great family-friendly activities. As an extra bonus, admission to the Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens is free on Monday, February 21.
Martha Movie Magic- Fantasia
- WHAT: All ages are invited to watch Fantasia and enjoy refreshments.
- WHEN: Wednesday, Feb. 16, 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- WHERE: Martha Washington Library
- HOW MUCH: Free but reservations are required
Crafts for Children Age 3 and Older
Storytelling Sessions at Mount Vernon- George Washington's Childhood
- WHAT: Good Shepherd Catholic Church provides a craft activity for children while mothers attend the church's weekly Mothers' Group meeting.
- WHEN: Wednesdays, 9:45 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- WHERE:
- HOW MUCH: $2
- WHAT: These 20-minute sessions are recommended for children ages 3 to 8.
- WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 19 and 20, 2 p.m.

- HOW MUCH: Included in regular Estate admission: adults, $15.00; youth ages 6-11, $7.00; and children under 5 are admitted free
George Washington's Surprise Birthday Party
- WHAT: In honor of George Washington's 279th birthday, there will be special events and admission to the Estate will be free.

George Washington Birthday Parade
- WHAT: This is the largest parade in the nation to celebrate George Washington's birthday.
