National Hispanic Heritage Month Starts Today

Here are five things to know today in Mount Vernon.

  1. The Eagle Scouts will be holding a Bikes for the World Collection Project on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot of St. Aidan's Episcopal Church.
  2. Registration is still open for Stories by Gary Lloyd on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sherwood Regional Library.
  3. The Hollin Hall Senior Center is holding a "Fall Prevention Seminar" on Thursday, September 22. The seminar is free, but registration is recommended.
  4. Mount Vernon At Home and Meals on Wheels are looking for volunteers to help older adults living independently.
  5. Today is the beginning of National Hispanic Heritage Month.
