Subdivision Planned for Historic Land in Fort Hunt

An 11-home subdivision is in the works for a historic plot of land on Sherwood Hall Lane. William H. Gordon Associates has filed a preliminary subdivision plan with Fairfax County Department of Parks and Environmental Service for the subdivision, called Little Hollin Hall.

Arcadia: Proposing a Restaurant at Woodlawn Plantation?

The founders of the Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food and Agriculture reportedly have plans to expand their agricultural services at Woodlawn Plantation with proposals for a restaurant that would eventually take over space now occupied by Woodlawn Stables.

Mount Vernon Secures Historic Latrobe Painting

The Mount Vernon Ladies' Association purchased at auction Friday a historic watercolor drawing by Benjamin Henry Latrobe. 

“A View of Mount Vernon with the Washington Family” sold for $602,500 at Sotheby’s in New York on Jan. 26 and was purchased through the generosity of an anonymous donor.
