Senior Citizens Law Day 2011 Presentation

Doors open at 8:30am at the First Baptist Church of Alexandria with a complimentary continental breakfast followed by the keynote address at 9:00am by Steve Gurney, publisher of the Guide to Retirement Living Sourcebook. Two panel discussions and a presentation will follow.  The first panel on consequences of failing to plan for aging (guardianships and conservatorships) and what tools you can use to ensure that your wishes are honored, will feature four Alexandria lawyers, Luke Lenzi,  Kenneth E. Labowitz, Deborah G. Matthews, and Lonnie C. Rich.  The second panel, moderated by Steve Gurney, will focus on care management, long term care, financial planning for long term care and Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans Benefits. Presenters are Vanessa R. Bishop, MSW, LCSW, CMC, C-ASWCM, Thomas C. West, CLU, ChFC, and attorney Robert A. Bullock. Mary Lee Anderson, Manager of Senior Services of Alexandria’s new Resource Center will discuss the resources and assistance services the initiative offers, as well as announce its newest offerings.
