The Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation (SFDC) will host “Retail Trends & Opportunities: National, Regional and Richmond Corridor Markets” an in-depth discussion of the evolving landscape for the retail sector by the top experts in the industry.
The Retail Summit will feature presentations by John Collich, Senior Vice President of Retail Development for Saul Centers, Inc.; Tom Maskey, Principal of the Potomac Development Group; and Streetsense principal Jeff Pollak and moderated by Bruce Leonard, Streetsense managing principal and a member of the SFDC Board of Directors. Together, these four have accrued more than 100 years of experience in the industry. The group will explain the shift from Baby Boomers to the “X and Y” generation as major market drivers and the competitive impact of the internet on traditional bricks and mortar retailers. The panelists have been part of successful retail developments in the region including National Harbor, Fair Lakes, Beacon Center, and Park Potomac. Saul Centers is the owner of Beacon Center located on Richmond Highway, an area home to nearly 4 million square feet of retail space.
