Tickets on Sale for Mount Vernon by Candlelight
An additional weekend for the popular event has been added.
Tickets are now on sale for Historic Mount Vernon's popular program Mount Vernon by Candlelight, now being held for an additional weekend this year.
The event includes a holiday-themed tour of the Mansion given by characters from the Washingtons' world. In the kitchen, the final stop on the tour, guests will hear about 18th-century holiday cooking, see Martha Washington’s Great Cake, and be given a complimentary copy of the recipe to try at home. Following the tour, guests can walk along candlelit paths, join in fireside caroling, and enjoy complimentary hot cider and cookies.
The Food Court at Mount Vernon, The Shops at Mount Vernon, and The Mount Vernon Inn Restaurant will all be open late during the tours.

Mount Vernon by Candlelight will take place on Nov. 23, 24 and 25, Dec. 1 and 2, Dec. 8 and 9, and Dec. 15 and 16 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Ford Orientation Center at Mount Vernon or through MountVernon.org.
