Business Growth Shows Optimism

The growth of businesses shows the optimistic attitude of entrepreneurs who start and grow their businesses even in difficult economic times.

Over the last few months, several businesses have joined the Mount Vernon-Lee Chamber of Commerce.  The growth of businesses shows the optimistic attitude of entrepreneurs who start and grow their businesses even in difficult economic times.

Results of a recent survey of Chamber members show 25 percent believe that the local economy will improve in 2013, and 40 percent think the economy will be the same, while 33 percent believe there will be economic challenges in 2013.  Here are a few new Chamber members that are optimistic about growth potential in our area.

Welcome to a new business, Top It Off Accessories located in the Hollin Hall Shopping Center.  This is a great example of a unique, local business.  There is nowhere in this part of Fairfax County where womens’ accessories are sold.  Top It Off will fill a gap in our local retail community. The store is fun and the personnel are friendly and helpful.

Other new businesses include Central Michigan University Global Campus, LoriAnne Your Right Hand Virtual Assistance, Liz Marketing LLC, Eco Waste Consulting, KAF LLC Multi-Purpose Center, and Shiver Management Group.  Each of these businesses cares about the community where they live.  They work hard to provide a good business product, provide jobs, and strengthen the community where they are located.

Of concern to all the businesses along Richmond Highway is the water main replacement project.  The equipment and replacement pipes can be seen along the highway and trees are being cleared from the North Hill site to accommodate this project.  Replacing these water mains will have a long-term benefit for all water users. The current infrastructure is aging and there have been several water main breaks in recent years.
