"High School Musical" Produced by MVCCT is a Hit

The Mount Vernon Community Children’s Theatre production of “High School Musical” is a delightful way to spend an evening.

I’ve been a fan of “High School Musical” since my teenagers introduced me to the trilogy several years ago.  The music, the energy, the timelessness of the story all appealed to me so I was excited to see the MVCC production.

The young cast of “High School Musical” performed their parts well and provided an entertaining evening for the 200 plus fans assembled in the Bryant High School auditorium.   The musical numbers were flawlessly performed and the whole performance came to life with talented direction.

Frankie Littleton as Gabriella Montez and Tommy Richman as Troy Bolton, the two leads, were terrific.  The duets they sang together were so good that I wanted them to sing together more.   Their “Breaking Free” duet was a high point of the production.

The “High School Musical” drama teacher was played with much success by seventh grader Maria Pattison.  Ms. Pattison’s performance showed a mature acting talent in bringing to life Ms. Darbus.

The best thing about “High School Musical” are the timeless themes of moving outside your comfort zone to try something new and the idea of “we’re all in this together.”
Whether growing up in high school or creating a community, “we’re all in this together.”   The enthusiastic performance of “High School Musical” is a fun evening and a good message for children or adults.

Tickets are still available for performances of "High School Musical" for November 22, 23, and 24.
