Police: Burglary Reported on Old Mill Road in Mount Vernon

FCPD recently switched from weekly crime reports to daily activity reports. The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department in their daily report released April 17. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The following items are from the recent daily activity report from the Mount Vernon Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department.

ROBBERY, 2900 block of Furman Lane, April 16, 12:25 a.m. A 35-year-old man was walking home. He was approached by two young men who demanded his wallet. They fled with his wallet and cell phone. The victim received minor injuries. The suspects were described as black males in their late teens to early 20s. One was wearing a black jacket.

WARRANT SERVICE, 8100 block of Lakepark Drive, April 16, 9:45 a.m. Officer responded for an alarm. He learned the individual who tripped the alarm was wanted for an unrelated event. He fled the home.Β  John Redmon, 20, of Alexandria, was located and charged with petit larceny, petit larceny 3rd conviction, destruction of property, and violation of a court order.

BURGLARY, 4200 block of Old Mill Road, April 16, 6:15 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a side door.
