Police: Graffiti Reported in Mount Vernon

FCPD recently switched from weekly crime reports to daily activity reports. The following information was supplied by the Fairfax County Police Department in their daily report released April 12. Arrests do not indicate a conviction.

The following items are from the recent daily activity report from the Mount Vernon Police District of the Fairfax County Police Department.

BURGLARY, 6800 block of Smithway Drive, April 11, 3 p.m. A resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash. Forced entry was made through a window.

GRAFFITI, 4000 block of Fielding Street, April 11, 6:10 p.m. An employee reported drawings on an access ramp. The owner has been notified to remove the graffiti.

NARCOTICS, 8000 block of Richmond Highway, April 11, 2 p.m. Officers approached and detained a wanted person. He allegedly resisted the officers’ attempt to take him into custody. One officer received minor injuries during the struggle. Martez Redfearn, 20, of Alexandria, was charged for obstruction of justice and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
