Police Seek Suspect in Gas Station Robberies

Suspect believed to have robbed a Mobil gas station twice.

Fairfax County Crime Solvers and Fairfax County Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the man believed to be responsible for two commercial robberies.

The first robbery occurred on Jan. 26 around 6:30 a.m. at the Mobil gas station located at 8156 Richmond Hwy. A man entered the business and demanded money from the employee, standing behind the counter. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot.

The second robbery at the Mobil gas station occurred around 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 28. During that robbery, a man entered the business and swung a hammer at the employee. He threatened the employee and demanded money. The victim complied and the suspect fled on foot.

Detectives believe the same suspect tried to enter the business again on Feb. 1 around 6:45 a.m. On that date the suspect displayed a knife and attempted to open the door; he was not successful because the doors were still locked.

Detectives have obtained surveillance video and believe the same suspect is responsible for both robberies and the third incident. The suspect is described as black, in his 30s to 40s. He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 180 to 200 pounds. He has a light complexion and may have a mustache.
