Police: Woman Robbed At Knifepoint

An armed robbery took place at a convenience store over the weekend.

The Fairfax County Police Department reported that a woman was robbed at knifepoint at a local convenience store early Saturday morning. 

The robbery took place in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven convenience store in the 8200 block of Russell Road on Saturday morning around 4:45 a.m. The victim was exiting her vehicle when she was approached by a man who displayed a knife and grabbed her purse. She let go of the purse and the suspect fled the scene in a waiting vehicle, police said. 

The victim did not sustain any injuries, said Public Information Officer Shelley Broderick, Fairfax County Police Department.

The robbery is still under investigation by Fairfax County Police. Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact Fairfax County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS.
