Rep. Jim Moran to Host Financial Aid Workshop at Mount Vernon HS

Congressman will be hosting a series of workshops throughout Northern Virginia.

Rep. Jim Moran will host a workshop at Mount Vernon High School dedicated to helping high school seniors and their parents navigate opportunities to pay for college.

The workshop is part of a series of three workshops throughout Northern Virginia. The workshops, called "Making College Affordable: Financiang Your Education," will feature presentations, a panel discussion, Q and A session, and info booths. The workshop will be hosted in conjunction with Sallie Mae, the Federal Trade Commission, and Virginia Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.

“Higher education is the key to a better salary, more career opportunities, and a higher quality of life. But the cost of a college degree can be overwhelming," Rep. Moran told Patch. "This workshop is designed to link students and their parents with experts who can help navigate the maze of forms, scholarships, and loan options to finance their education.”

The workshops are scheduled throughout February and March.
