I’ve been away from my blog for awhile. I took some time off to finish my doctorate, which I did...finally.
Getting an Ed.D or any terminal degree, allows you understand with absolute certainty how little you really know. And I do!
Now that my dissertation is behind me, I’m starting a new venture, which I’d like to share with you. It’s called Church Outloud www.churchoutloud.me.
Church Outloud is a blog in which I’ll share our congregation’s experiment in thinking creatively about our faith, our mission, and most of all, how God may be calling us to minister to our community. It’s also an opportunity for dialogue and for you to weigh in.
Like virtually every congregation or religious community today, Epiphany is seeking new ways of making the faith relevant in a rapidly changing world. How do we bring the message of God’s love to bear in a polarized world? A world reeling from the senseless and tragic violence of the past few weeks. What do stressed families need in order to manage their lives and not lose touch with the spiritual side of life?
At Epiphany, we’re setting out on a new adventure, and I’ll be blogging our journey here with you on Mount Vernon Patch and at Church Outloud. I hope you’ll join me.
