Five teachers at will be honored with the prestigious Fairfax County Public Schools' Excellence Awards at the school board meeting on Thursday night.

Sixth-grade teachers Forrest Chilton, Nancy Hawkins, Ray Hoskie; fifth grade teacher Matthew Hayes, and fourth grade teacher Christoph Hill will be recognized for their professionalism and dedication to teaching. They are the only Cluster 4 teachers to be recognized for this award.

All teachers will be honored as sixth grade teachers, said WMES Principal Tish Howard. The group is unique in that two of the teachers are permanent sixth grade teachers, while the others rotate between fourth, fifth, and sixth grade, the only school in Fairfax County to do so.
