Mount Vernon HS Student Earns Silver Award for Art

Jordan Klager earned the Silver Award in Photography.

Jordan Klager of Mount Vernon High School earned a Silver Award in the 2013 Scholastic Art Awards sponsored by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers. 

Klager is among 20 Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) students who have received 21 national medals for their entries in the 2013 Scholastic Art Awards. Seven students earned eight Gold Awards and 13 students earned Silver Medals. Klager was honored with the Silver Award in Photography for art portfolio, with distinction.

National awards were given to 1,600 artists and writers in grades 7-12 from across the United States who were selected from more than 230,000 submissions. National award winners and their teachers will be honored at an awards ceremony May 31 at Carnegie Hall in New York City. For additional information, visit http://www.artandwriting.org/.
