Nationals Fans React to Teddy's Win

Teddy Roosevelt wins Presidents' Race at Nats game Wednesday.

Washington Nationals fans had another reason to celebrate when Teddy Roosevelt won the Presidents' Race for the first time ever during the Nats' regular-season finale against the Phillies Wednesday afternoon.

Teddy's inability to win a Presidents' Race has been a long-standing joke among Nats fans. After more than 500 attempts since the Presidents' Race debuted at RFK Stadium in the summer of 2006, the giant-headed mascot depicting the 26th president finally finished first, The Washington Post DC sports blog reported.

#Teddyin2012 instantly became a trending topic on Twitter nationwide.
