Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club Sponsors Trip to D.C.

More than 40 area children had the opportunity to visit Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.

Earlier this month, several area children were able to explore Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum thanks to the Mount Vernon Kiwanis Club.

On July 8, 48 children and six chaperones from UCM's Sacramento and Creekside Community Centers took a bus to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum in Washington D.C. The Kiwanis Club funded the bus trip and admission fees for the group.Β

Said Kiwanis President Bruce Malkin, "The group had the opportunity to meet and greet wax figures of Barack Obama, Michael Jackson, Abraham Lincoln, and many more celebrities. Many of the students found the exhibits that included sports athletes such as Muhammad Ali and musicians such as the Jonas Brothers the most exciting. Many were surprised that the figures they viewed to be larger than life actually turned out to be just about their size.:
