Mount Vernon Nonprofit Hosts a Soiree 'On the Boardwalk'
Annual fundraising gala raised $115,000 for New Hope Housing.
Guests enjoyed a trip to the beach — without leaving Northern Virginia — at 's 'On the Boardwalk' fundraising gala at The Waterford in Springfield Saturday night.
The annual fundraiser featured beach music, a live and silent auction, and a gourmet meal prepared by Chef Mike Rogers. The premier auction item was a luxury West Coast vacation package including two round-trip tickets to Los Angeles, three-night hotel accommodations, VIP tickets to the "Ellen Degeneres Show" and a walk-on role in Arlington native Greg Garcia’s hit comedy on Fox,"Raising Hope."
“Many thanks to all the donors, sponsors and guests, who made the 2012 Gala a success,” said Pam Michell, New Hope Housing executive director, in a press release. “Their support helps make our work to prevent homelessness and build a stronger community possible.”
